Oily skin is caused due to surplus production of sebum from the sebaceous glands present in the skin. Sebum is an oily substance with hydration and antioxidant properties which moisturises the skin and keeps it healthy. But excess sebum is not good as it leads to the production of oil. It can occur because of genetic changes or stress sometimes.

Oily skin can make your face look shiny. It can clog pores which can form acne.
